Navakhole Member of Parliament Emmanuel Wangwe has highlighted a strong track record of development across the constituency, citing growth in administration, education and infrastructure. Speaking during a community engagement forum with local leaders, elders and residents at his constituency office, Wangwe said the constituency has recorded significant transformation since its establishment. The legislator warned residents living along River Nzoia to take early precautions against anticipated heavy rainfall and potential flooding linked to the El Nino phenomenon. He urged vulnerable households to relocate to higher, safer grounds to avert loss of life and property should the river overflow its banks. On development, Wangwe said the area previously lacked key government facilities but now boasts a Deputy County Commissioner's office, new police stations, divisional security hubs and a fully operational Ministry of Education office. In the education sector, he said secondary schools have increased from 22 to 38, while primary schools have grown from 64 to 81. He also cited growth in tertiary institutions, including the Navakhole Technical and Vocational College (TVC) which currently enrolls 2,400 students, and the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Navakhole campus. Wangwe said the National Government has committed Sh 221 million for construction of a seven-storey hostel at the KMTC campus to accommodate 508 students undertaking clinical medicine and nursing programmes. On infrastructure, the MP said the C41 road project valued at Sh 3.2 billion, which includes a new bridge connecting Kakamega and Bungoma counties, is ongoing. He added that the 22-kilometre Samiti-Navakhole road extension and rehabilitation of the Mukweso-Lusumu-Malaha road corridor are also progressing. He lauded the interfaith community, including Muslim, Catholic, Pentecostal and Quaker leadership, for supporting community-based education and social institutions in the constituency.
